You don’t need a workshop to keep your gear in top shape—just a few tools, some time, and the right routine.

Post-Trip Cleaning Routine
Rinse rod and reel with freshwater (never submerge the reel).
Use a soft cloth to wipe down the entire setup.
Let it air dry before storage.
Reel Care
Lightly oil the reel handle and moving parts every few trips.
Check for sand, salt buildup, and line wear.
If you feel grinding or tension, it may be time for a professional service.
Line Tips
Inspect your line for frays and kinks.
Replace mono or fluoro line every few months (braid lasts longer).
Always cut off a few feet of line after a trip to avoid weakened sections.
Storage Suggestions
Store rods upright or horizontally—never leaning at an angle.
Loosen the drag before storing reels.
Keep everything in a cool, dry place.
A little post-trip love goes a long way. Treat your gear right, and it’ll serve you well trip after trip.
