Charter Talk – What to Expect on a Dana Wharf Lady Anglers Trip

Thinking of joining your first Dana Wharf Lady Anglers charter? Here’s what you can expect and how to get the most out of your trip.

Before You Board

  • Arrive early (at least 30 mins before departure).

  • Bring a small cooler, sunscreen, and layers.

  • Tackle and gear rentals are available—but many Lady Anglers bring their own.

  • Don’t forget your fishing license!

A Day on the Water

The trips range from half-day local runs to full-day offshore adventures. Depending on the season, you might fish for calico bass, rockfish, halibut, yellowtail, or even tuna.

The deckhands are fantastic—don’t hesitate to ask for help baiting your hook, casting, or even reeling in a big one.

The Community Vibe

What makes DWLA unique isn’t just the fishing—it’s the community. Trips are supportive, fun, and filled with encouragement. Whether it’s your first fish or your fiftieth, you’ll always have someone cheering you on.

After the Catch

Your fish will be cleaned and bagged at the dock, ready to take home. Some members swap recipes while others head to the Grilled Cheese Shack to celebrate.

First trip nerves? Totally normal. But by the end of the day, you’ll be hooked—in more ways than one.
